Files Fomatting

I have two laptops. I copied some of my files and folders on to my external hard drive. When I attach my hard drive to my other laptop, some of the files and folders can’t be accessed. Why is that?

I have a file converter where I can convert files for something specific. I have blank dvds for burning. If I were to convert a video file, what conversion should the file be converted to so it can be put on a blank dvd to burn to watch on my tv?

I’ve dled Gsplit, but the directions state that smaller files it creates cannot be independently played. Is there a utility that can break a large wmv file into smaller files that can be independently played?

When you add a link in yahoogroup files they are supposed to be displayed in alphabetical order. To get it to be before the “A’s” you put some sort of symbol or number at the beginning of the file title. But I’ve seen files that were at the beginning of the list that began with [...]
